The members of Nervous Fingers describe their sound as “aged and cured high school noodling,” and those weathered, teen-aged influences are put to good use on the band’s debut single, “Fearful Children” b/w “New Celebrity” (Clothes Make the Man Records 001).
“Fearful Children,” with its layered vocals and twin-guitar attack, recalls the first British Invasion’s discovery of the power chord married to shades of Eno. The flipside, “New Celebrity,” packs a chorus that harkens straight to the pop side of 1977.

Clothes Make the Man Records 001
Recorded in the Practice Space, Summer 2008
Mastered by Jason Ward at Chicago Mastering Service
The Nervous Fingers came together when JBI (ex-Returnables) petted Alex's (ex-A Roman Scandal, ex-These Wonderful Evils) dog between eating meats. Chris Roo (ex-10 O' Clock Owls, ex-Electric Set) petted JBI's dog in between Bloody Marys, and Lulu just like petting dogs because they are cute.
Petting out of the way, the soon-to-be Nervous Fingers got to writing songs that may bear some imprint of the music they love: '77 era punk, pop of all shades, psychedelic drone, and some good old fashioned jangle.
The Nervous Fingers still make time for petting.
